Our Founding

A Brief History

 

March of the Blanketeers has a historic name. In 1817, spinners and weavers marched through the streets of Manchester, England.  They were boycotting the new tariffs put by their Prince on imported cotton.

Present Day:

In November of 2012, just days after Hurricane Sandy, which hit Long Island, NY; March of the Blanketeers was born!  March of the Blanketeers' Founder, Samantha DeMato, created this fantastic cause knowing that every hospitalized child, and teen no matter what age needs a friend during a traumatizing time in their life, such as a blanket, hat, bear, or card.

March of the blanketeers is an all-volunteer registered us 501c(3) non-profit organization.  All funds go directly to supplies, and running expenses, AND NEVER TO A PAYCHECK.
